A Leap of Faith into the Unknown

Well, here we go. This past week, I had a lot of time to think and pray about my future and career aspirations. I was approaching a fork in the road of my life, and I didn’t know which way to go. But as I prayed about it, God made it clear what I should do.

“Seek first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.”

I needed to seek first His Kingdom! And as I thought about it, one of my possible paths stood out from the other: writing and editing. As a writer and editor, I can use my talents and abilities fully for the Kingdom, while working from home with a flexible schedule. This also allows me more time to spend with my wife and gives her time to help me with my work, along with giving both of us more opportunities to minister to other people.

It’s good, but it’s a little scary. I don’t know where we’ll get money for food or rent. But I do know that God will be with us every step of the way, and that’s what matters most. After all, I’m living to please Him, not other people. I trust that He will provide everything we need as we trust Him day by day, walking in obedience wherever He calls us.
